Radiation and the Thyroid

With Japan having a radioactive leak, it is a worry for all about the effects radiation can have. The thyroid is particularly sensitive to radiation, due to it's susceptibility to iodine. It is extremley unlikely that individuals not in Japan will be affected.

Stable iodine has been given out to the public of Japan, which should help to minimise the risks.
